In 2015 the volume of import in Georgia was USD 7728 million, while export was USD 2204 million. The negative trade balance composed USD\u00a05524 million. This tendency is not new for Georgia and affects local economy. The problem came into light with darker colors since Georgian Lari\u00a0started dramatic fall, against foreign currencies which contributed to growth of product prices. Lack of production still remains one of the main\u00a0challenges for Georgia, which definitely is the main contributor to our dependence on import. Meanwhile there still are niches in Georgia,especially\u00a0in\u00a0food\u00a0segment,\u00a0which\u00a0manages\u00a0to\u00a0cover\u00a0local\u00a0demand.\u00a0High\u00a0demand\u00a0towards\u00a0Made\u00a0in\u00a0Georgia
\nproducts\u00a0is\u00a0believed\u00a0to\u00a0give\u00a0a\u00a0signal\u00a0to\u00a0local\u00a0entrepreneurs\u00a0to develop local production.<\/p>\n
According to official statistics, Georgians\u00a0annually consume products worth over USD\u00a01 100 000 000. \u00a070 % of this product is imported.<\/p>\n

This means that business provides\u00a0more money to state budget and it\u00a0means that GDP of people increases and\u00a0economy develops \u2013 this is a main formula\u00a0of economical growth, – believes Tariel\u00a0Zivzivadze, founder of Kar.ge Movement.<\/p>\n
